Just back from a wonderful week of creative writing teaching in Tyrone. If you've never been to Tyrone before let me tell you it is a beautiful county and thoroughly unspoilt. It's great walking country and quite a few threatened bird and animal species are thriving in this part of Ireland. I had no internet access during this time so nice to see that a new short story of mine is now up and running on the Wordlegs journal:

This story (or a version of) appears in my new short story collection, Badlands.

Really good story. I liked the build up, the broodingness, the descriptions of the land..it felt real.
ReplyDeleteCool list of credits you've got yourself, too.
Thanks Rachel! I'm sorry I've done this delayed comment publishing thing but I was getting a lot of spam. By the Black Field is a very early story of mine that I've just tried to shape up into a workable piece. It works best in creating an odd kind of mood I think. I like it for that. The version in my new collection is shorter. Hope you're well!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to getting your collection shortly. Will be interesting to see the difference in the story here.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, re: spam - it takes me so long to get around blog land anyhow.
I'm good, thanks - hope you're well too :)
