Reviews for The Scattering by Jaki McCarrick

Just back from my stint as Writer-in-Residence at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris and, boy, do I have a lot of outstanding work to do! For instance, this September, Chicago-based theatre company, Artemisia, are to give a public reading of my play, Belfast Girls, so I have much to do with regards getting organised for this (some new script work included). Then there's my first radio-play, Kindred, which is to be recorded shortly in the UK by the Wireless Theatre Company. I am also halfway through a much-promised (to a brilliant new director) new play and I must get this done. And that's not even to mention my almost-completed first novel - which I am just itching to get back to. So, without further ado - below is a quick roundup of the reviews for my first collection of short stories, The Scattering. The book was Inpress Book of the Month for April and was launched in three places this year - Dundalk, Cardiff and London. I read from the book in a number of places in Paris - including the Mediatheque at the CCI and in Cine 2 at the Pompidou Centre. I will blog shortly about my marvellous and intensely creative time in the French capital.
